DAY TRIPPIN' Sevilla pt. 4 (finally!)

(Yes, I know this post is a week overdue - luckily the other parts shouldn't take too long to update if I actually get to them)

If this were a Friends episode, it'd be called "The One With All The Pictures"
It features the Cathedral in Sevilla - for never visiting a cathedral (in my memory, at least), this was THE cathedral to visit!

Welcome to the Hogwarts of Spain?

It was a magical day

When I saw this, I asked one of the girls also on my program: "Do you think people are buried in here?" and she said, "I don't know, that'd be interesting to find out! I'm trying to think of how I'd ask that in Spanish but all that comes to mind is 'do you have any bodies?' and that would just come across as rude and messed up!"

I thought this would be the grandest part of the Cathedral. HA HA...i'malwayswrong

Gates that guard the most beautiful sight I've ever seen - so beautiful, my camera couldn't handle it the detail

After exploring most of the Cathedral, my roommate found me and said "I was looking for you and was worried you left! I even walked up the 30 floors to the tower" "...what?" "there's a tower! it's like the main attraction to this Cathedral? you walk up 30 stories?" "no?" "let's go!"

So we walked up 30 floors worth of steep and narrow ramps - some had little coves with window so I stopped and took some photos on my way up

This sight was already so beautiful - what difference could 20 more flights make?

so we walked....

and walked...

and walked....

and walked...

keep going...

almost there

you can do it!!

FINALLY MADE IT TO THE TOP!

Feelin' like Quasimodo

Lookin' like him, too

but the sights were absolutely breathtaking

After the Cathedral, we were STARVING - so we went to a bar that my roommate's friend recommended where I tried my first tapas portion of Paella (it was heaven)

Waiting for our food was THE struggle

After we ate our tapas, we continued to walk through the streets since our train back to Cadiz wasn't until 9:40. Along the way, we passed ANOTHER wedding

We had passed 4 weddings before the day would end.

Feeling a little tired, we decided to sit down and just enjoy the atmosphere for a while before walking toward the train station... when the most adorable dog jumped up and started greeting my friend (who practically died from the excitement because she loves dogs)

The parents must have noticed that we were giggling over the kids playing with the bike because the children came over to us and started talking to us - and their little sister even came over to greet us

It was great seeing kids being kids. We watched these two brother sand their friend play with bicycle (with training wheels) that they were sharing. The one boy couldn't figure out that he was pedaling backwards and that the bike wouldn't go anywhere. He would keep pedaling and get frustrated because he wasn't going anywhere. So the friend tried showing him that he had to pedal FORWARD to get the bike to move - but he still didn't understand and the friend got SO mad and stormed off with an angry face (it was adorable and really refreshing to see kids just being kids)

As they were leaving, the little sister came over to me and wanted to give me a typical Spanish greeting (a kiss on the cheek) and I didn't understand that at first so I leaned down to say hello and she gave me a kiss - I AM PRETTY SURE I DIED FROM THIS ADORABLE INTERACTION. Then as they were walking away, the boys came over and asked us to call them on the telephone (their dad must've told them this one because he and his wife were a few feet away absolutely laughing)

Although it was a tiring and long day, the day trip to Sevilla was PERFECT. :) 10/10 would visit again!
